Alex Fernandez heads up AFC Group. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst, and a Certified Fraud Examiner with over 36 years experience, including eleven years with international accounting and consulting firms. He has significant experience as a testifying expert and consultant to clients and counsels in dispute resolution and valuation advisory services, including the performance of investigative audits and the assessment of economic damages.

Alex has served as the lead expert in some of this country’s most significant litigation matters, including a $10.8 billion misappropriation of trade secrets dispute, a $4 billion Ponzi fraud scheme, a $1.3 billion tort claim and the assessment of millions of dollars in economic damages.

He has served as Miami-Dade County’s economic damage expert in numerous breaches of contracts and construction litigation disputes. He has also served as a consultant to State and Federal governments and has been appointed by the courts as a financial expert. Alex was the lead expert for the Florida House of Representatives, Committee on Commerce, relating to their review of failed state-chartered financial institutions, including fraud, insider abuse and negligence-related matters. He has served as the defense expert on behalf of several international accounting and consulting firms in professional negligence litigation and as the plaintiff’s expert for multi-national corporations in similar litigation. He has also been the lead investigator on numerous international fraud matters.
